Getting There
Bus
From the center of Namur, walk to the 'Gare de Namur' (Namur Train Station), which is located about 15 minutes from the central square. Once at the station, take bus line 11 towards 'Braine-l'Alleud'. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Rte du Lion 1815', which is closest to the Waterloo Battlefield. From the bus stop, it is a short 5-minute walk to the entrance of the battlefield.
Train
Head to 'Gare de Namur' (Namur Train Station). From there, take a train towards 'Bruxelles-Midi'. After about 20 minutes, get off at 'Braine-l'Alleud' station. From the train station, you can walk to the Waterloo Battlefield, which is approximately a 25-minute walk (about 2 km). Simply follow the signs towards the battlefield or use a map app for directions.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental services in Namur. Head towards the 'Ravel' cycle path that leads out of Namur. Follow the Ravel path towards 'Braine-l'Alleud', which is about a 10 km ride and will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Upon reaching Braine-l'Alleud, follow the signs to the 'Rte du Lion 1815' to arrive at the Waterloo Battlefield.
Walking
If you're up for a long walk, you can walk directly from the center of Namur to the Waterloo Battlefield. It's about a 10 km walk, which will take around 2 hours. Start at the central square and head towards 'Rue de Fer', then follow 'Avenue de la Plante' until you reach 'Rte du Lion 1815'. It's advisable to use a map app on your phone for accurate directions.
