Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Ostend, head east on the Oosteroever. You can start at the Oostende railway station. Exit the station and walk towards the coast, taking a right turn onto the promenade. Continue walking along the beach promenade (Zeilstraat) until you reach the roundabout at the end of the beach. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Vuurtorenweg. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer. Fort Napoleon will be on your left at Vuurtorenweg 13.

  • Biking

    If you prefer to bike, rent a bike at one of the local rental shops near the Ostend railway station. From the station, head east towards the coast and follow the same route as walking. Bike along the beach promenade (Zeilstraat), and when you reach the roundabout, take the first exit onto Vuurtorenweg. Continue cycling for approximately 1 kilometer, and you will find Fort Napoleon on the left side at Vuurtorenweg 13.

  • Public Transport

    To get to Fort Napoleon by public transport, take bus line 4 from the Ostend central bus station. Board the bus heading towards 'Oosteroever' and get off at the 'Vuurtoren' stop. From there, walk straight down Vuurtorenweg for about 500 meters. Fort Napoleon will be on your right at Vuurtorenweg 13.
