Pont des Trous: A Historic Marvel of Tournai

Getting There

• Walking

  From the Grand Place in Tournai, head south toward Rue de la Tête d'Or. Continue straight onto Rue de la Croix, which will lead you to the Quai Donat Casterman. Once you reach the riverbank, the Pont des Trous will be directly in front of you. It’s a picturesque walk of about 15 minutes.

  If you are near the Tournai Cathedral (Cathedral of Notre Dame), exit the cathedral grounds and turn right onto Rue de la Madeleine. Walk straight until you reach the Place de l'Evêché, then turn left onto Rue des Tanneurs. Follow this road until you reach the river, at which point you will find the Pont des Trous nearby. This route will take approximately 20 minutes.

  Take bus number 11 from Tournai's main bus station (Gare de Tournai) towards Froyennes. Get off at the stop named 'Pont des Trous'. The bridge is just a short walk from the bus stop, taking about 5 minutes. Ensure to check the bus schedule as it may vary throughout the day.

  From the Tournai Museum of Fine Arts, head southeast on Rue de la Grotte toward Rue de la Tête d'Or. Continue onto Rue de l'Enfer and turn left onto Quai des Vicinaux, which will lead you directly to the Pont des Trous. This route is approximately 10 minutes on foot.
