If you are driving from anywhere in Wallonia, the most convenient route to Grand Place in Brussels is via the E19 motorway. From Namur, take the E411 to connect to the E19 towards Brussels. Follow the signs for 'Bruxelles' or 'Brussel' and stay on the E19 for about 60 kilometers. Once you approach Brussels, take the exit towards 'Centre' and follow the signs for the city center. You will need to navigate through some city streets to reach Grand Place, which is located at Grote Markt, 1000 Brussel. Be aware that parking in the area may incur costs, which can vary based on the time of day and the parking facility.
Train
For those using public transportation, taking a train to Brussels is a great option. You can catch a train from major cities like Liège, Namur, or Charleroi. Head to your nearest train station and purchase a ticket to Brussels Central Station (Bruxelles-Central). The journey from Liège to Brussels takes approximately 1 hour, while from Namur, it takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Brussels Central Station, exit the station and walk towards Rue de la Bourse, then take a left onto Rue des Harengs which will lead you directly to Grand Place, just a 10-minute walk away.
Bus
Buses are another option for reaching Grand Place. You can take a regional bus from various locations in Wallonia to Brussels. For example, from Namur, take the TEC bus line 126 to Brussels. The bus will drop you off at a stop close to the city center. From there, you can walk approximately 15 minutes to Grand Place. Make sure to check the TEC website for the latest schedules and ticket prices.
Metro/Tram
Once you arrive in Brussels, you can also use the metro or tram services to reach Grand Place. If you are at Brussels Central Station, the metro is a convenient option. Take Line 1 or Line 5 towards stockel and get off at the next station, 'Parc'. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to Grand Place. Alternatively, you can take tram line 3 or 4 from various points in the city; just ensure to disembark at the 'Bourse' stop which is close to the Grand Place.
