Getting there

Bus

From the city center of Ghent, head to the 'Korenmarkt' bus stop. You can catch bus number 3 or 4 towards 'Brugge'. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Brugge Station' stop, which is the main train station of Bruges. From there, it is a 15-minute walk to Minnewater. Exit the station and head south on 'Stationsplein', continue straight onto 'Oostmeers', then turn left onto 'Minnewater'.

Train

Make your way to 'Gent-Sint-Pieters' train station in Ghent. You can take tram number 1 or bus number 3 from the city center to reach the station. Once at 'Gent-Sint-Pieters', take a train towards 'Brugge'. The journey takes about 30 minutes. After arriving at 'Brugge' station, exit and walk south on 'Stationsplein', then continue straight onto 'Oostmeers', and turn left onto 'Minnewater'. It will take about 15 minutes on foot.

Bicycle

If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Ghent. Head towards 'Gravensteen' castle and follow the bike path towards Bruges. The route is approximately 30 kilometers and takes about 1.5 hours. Make sure to follow the signs for 'Brugge'. Upon reaching Bruges, follow the bike lane signs to 'Minnewater', which is a beautiful park area. Look for the lake, and you will find Minnewater there.

Walking Tour

If you prefer a more scenic route, consider walking to Bruges. Start your walk from the 'Gravensteen' castle in Ghent. The walk to Bruges is about 30 kilometers and will take approximately 6-7 hours. Follow the 'Kruisstraat' out of the city and continue towards 'Brugge'. It's a lovely path through the countryside. Once you arrive in Bruges, head to the city center and follow signs to 'Minnewater'.
