Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Ghent, head towards Korenmarkt square. Once you reach Korenmarkt, you will see the iconic St. Nicholas' Church. Walk straight towards the church, and then take a left onto the Sint-Veerleplein. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the square. You will see the Gravensteen Castle on your right. Keep walking straight, and you will enter a narrow street. Follow this street as it curves left and leads you towards the river. Cross the bridge over the river, and continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Zuid. From there, take a right turn, and continue walking until you reach the bus station. Take the bus that heads to Bruges, and get off at the main bus station in Bruges. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Oude Burg.

  • Public Transport

    Start at the central train station in Ghent, Gent-Sint-Pieters. Take the train to Bruges (Brugge). The train departs frequently, so you shouldn't have to wait long. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bruges station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located just outside. Catch bus line 1 heading towards the city center. Get off at the 'Markt' stop. From the Markt, walk towards the Burg square, where you will find Oude Burg. It’s a short walk and should take you around 10 minutes.

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Ghent. Start from the city center and make your way towards the designated cycling paths leading to Bruges.
