Walking
From the Ypres Market Square, head south on the Grote Markt towards the Menin Gate. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Ieperstraat. Turn left onto Ieperstraat and continue walking until you reach the train station (Station Ieper). From the train station, take a train to Ostend (Oostende). The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ostend station, exit the station and turn right onto Oosteroever. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Vlaanderenstraat. Turn left onto Vlaanderenstraat, and The James Ensor House will be on your right at number 29.
Public Transport
From the Ypres Market Square, walk to the bus stop located at 'Grote Markt'. Take bus number 3 towards Oostende. The bus journey will take about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Ostend, disembark at the 'Oostende Stad' stop. Walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Vlaanderenstraat, then turn left. The James Ensor House will be at number 29 on your right.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Ypres. Start at the Ypres Market Square and head south on the Grote Markt. Follow the signs to the cycling path that leads to Ostend. The ride is approximately 25 kilometers and will take about 1.5 hours. Follow the designated cycling routes until you reach Ostend. Once in Ostend, continue towards the city center and look for Vlaanderenstraat. The James Ensor House is located at number 29.
