Car
If you are driving from San Pedro, head north on the main road along the coast. Follow the signs to the northern part of Ambergris Caye. The drive should take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you reach the northern end of the island, you will need to take a water taxi to Caye Caulker. The water taxi terminal is located at the northern pier. The fare for the water taxi is approximately $15 USD per person and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Caye Caulker, you can rent a bike or walk to Refugee Beach, which is located on the northern side of the island.
Public Transportation (Water Taxi)
To reach Refugee Beach via public transportation, start by getting to the water taxi terminal located in San Pedro. Various companies operate water taxis that can take you to Caye Caulker. Purchase a ticket, which costs around $15 USD per person. The water taxi ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Caye Caulker, you can either rent a bike for about $10 USD for the day or walk to the northern part of the island where Refugee Beach is located. The beach is a short distance from the main village and can be reached in about 15-20 minutes on foot.
