Car
If you're driving from Belize City, take the Western Highway (Hummingbird Highway) westbound for approximately 70 km (about 1.5 hours). Look for signs directing you to San Jose Succotz. As you approach San Jose Succotz, you'll need to park your car at a designated parking area near the ferry terminal. The ferry ride across the Mopan River to Xunantunich is free but may require a short wait during busy periods. Once you arrive on the other side, follow the signs leading to the ruins, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill.
Public Transportation
To reach Xunantunich via public transportation, board a bus or a shuttle van from Belize City heading to San Ignacio. The fare is generally around BZD 5-10 (~USD 2-5). Once in San Ignacio, you can either take a local taxi to San Jose Succotz (about BZD 15-20) or catch a local bus that goes to the ferry terminal. Upon reaching the ferry terminal, take the free ferry across the Mopan River. After the ferry ride, walk for about 15 minutes to reach the entrance of Xunantunich.
