Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Caracol, start by heading northeast on the main road towards San Ignacio. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction at the town of Santa Elena. At the junction, take a left onto the Western Highway (Hummingbird Highway). After about 10 kilometers, you will see signs for Indian Creek. Follow the signs and take a right onto the road leading to Indian Creek. The Nim Li Punit Mayan Ruins are located approximately 5 kilometers down this road, on the left side. Make sure to park in the designated area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transport, take a bus from Caracol to San Ignacio. Buses depart frequently from the main square in Caracol. Once you arrive in San Ignacio, head to the bus terminal and catch a bus heading to Indian Creek. Make sure to inform the bus driver of your destination, as this will help ensure you get off at the right stop. The bus journey typically takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Indian Creek, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Nim Li Punit Mayan Ruins. Follow the main road and look for signs directing you to the ruins.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Caracol. Negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey. The taxi ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the Nim Li Punit Mayan Ruins. Be sure to confirm the return trip with the driver, as they may wait for you, or you can arrange a time to pick you up after your visit.
