Getting There

Car

From Caracol, take the road heading southeast towards the Arenal junction. This will take about 30 minutes. Once you reach the junction, turn left onto the road leading to the town of San Ignacio. Drive for about 30 minutes until you reach the town. In San Ignacio, continue on the main road until you see a sign for the turnoff to Copper Bank and Cerros Mayan Ruins. Follow the signs and drive approximately 1 hour to reach the ruins. The last part of the drive may include some unpaved roads, so be cautious with your vehicle.
Public Transportation

From Caracol, take a local bus or a shared taxi to San Ignacio. This will cost around $5 BZD and the journey will take about 30 minutes. Once in San Ignacio, find a bus that goes to Copper Bank. Buses to Copper Bank may not run frequently, so check the schedule or ask locals for the next departure time. The bus trip will take about an hour and cost approximately $10 BZD. Once you arrive in Copper Bank, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Cerros Mayan Ruins, which is about a 15-minute drive away.
