Car
If you are traveling by car from Lighthouse Reef Atoll, you will first need to take a water taxi from the atoll to the mainland of Belize City. Once you arrive at the mainland, head towards the George Price Highway. From Belize City, follow the signs for the George Price Highway (also known as the Western Highway) heading west. Continue on this highway for about 5.5 miles until you reach Old Belize, which will be on your right. There is parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Old Belize using public transportation, start by taking a water taxi from Lighthouse Reef Atoll to Belize City. Once you arrive in Belize City, look for a bus terminal or a local bus stop. You can take a bus that goes towards Belmopan or a bus that states it travels along the George Price Highway. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Old Belize, which is approximately 5.5 miles from the city center. The bus fare is usually inexpensive, around $1-2 BZD. Be sure to have some local currency on hand.
