Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Mountain Pine Ridge, take the main road out of the reserve and head south towards the Hummingbird Highway. Once you reach the Hummingbird Highway, turn left and continue for approximately 20 miles (32 km). Look for Mile 36 along the highway, where The Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant is located. The lodge will be on your left. Ensure you have GPS or a map app for navigation.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, first take a local bus from Mountain Pine Ridge to Belmopan. Buses are available frequently, but it is recommended to check the schedule in advance. Once in Belmopan, you can catch a bus heading towards Dangriga or Placencia. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Mile 36 Hummingbird Highway. The lodge is a short walk from the bus stop along the highway.
