Car
From central Orange Walk Town, head south on the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as Highway 1). Continue driving for about 18 miles (approximately 30 minutes). Look for the sign indicating the road to the Barton Creek Cave Reserve, which will be on your left. Turn onto the dirt road and follow the signs. Be aware that this road may be bumpy, so drive carefully. Once you reach the reserve, you will find parking available.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Orange Walk Town to Belmopan. Buses to Belmopan leave regularly from the bus terminal in Orange Walk. Once you arrive in Belmopan, you will need to catch another bus heading towards San Ignacio. Ask the driver to drop you off at the turn-off for Barton Creek Cave Reserve. From there, you can either walk approximately 1.5 miles to the reserve or hire a taxi. Always confirm the fare before starting your ride. Be sure to check the bus schedules as the last buses may leave in the late afternoon.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Orange Walk Town. This option will be more expensive, typically costing around $50 to $70 BZD for a one-way trip.
