Car
From Orange Walk Town, head south on the Philip Goldson Highway (Hwy 100) towards Belize City. After approximately 16 miles, take the right turn onto the road leading towards the village of San Felipe. Continue straight until you reach the village. At San Felipe, follow the signs to the New River, where you will find a designated parking area near the riverbank. Please note that parking may incur a small fee. From the parking area, you will need to take a boat provided by Lamanai Outpost Lodge, which typically costs around $30 USD per person for the round trip. The boat ride will take about 30 minutes along the scenic New River to reach the lodge.
Public Transportation
From Orange Walk Town, take a local bus or shuttle to the village of San Felipe. Buses run frequently and cost approximately $1-2 USD. Upon arriving in San Felipe, you will need to find your way to the New River. There may be local guides available who can assist you in reaching the riverbank. Once at the river, you can arrange for the lodge's boat transfer, which costs around $30 USD per person for the round trip. The boat ride will take about 30 minutes, offering beautiful views along the way to Lamanai Outpost Lodge.
