From the center of Placencia, head towards the main road (Placencia Sidewalk). Walk north until you reach the intersection with the Southern Highway. At the intersection, turn left onto the Southern Highway. Continue walking along the Southern Highway for about 12 miles, which may take approximately 3-4 hours on foot, depending on your pace. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Maya Center, as it is located at Mile 12 on the Southern Highway, where you will find the entrance to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Placencia. Start by heading to the main road (Placencia Sidewalk) and make your way to the Southern Highway. Once you reach the Southern Highway, turn left and cycle north for about 12 miles. The ride should take approximately 1-2 hours. Look for the Mile 12 marker, where you will find the entrance to the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary in Maya Center.
