Getting There

• Walking

  From the central point in San Ignacio, head towards the bus terminal located on Burns Avenue. Once at the terminal, look for the bus heading to Belmopan. The buses are usually marked and leave frequently. After a short ride of approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Belmopan bus terminal. From there, you can take a taxi to Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve. The taxi ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to tell the driver 'Nohoch Che'en Caves' or show them the address: 37 Miles George Price Highway, Frank's Eddy Village, Cayo District.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in San Ignacio. Start by heading east on Main Street, then turn onto the George Price Highway heading south. Follow the highway for about 11 kilometers (approximately 7 miles). You will see signs for Nohoch Che'en Caves on your right. It will take roughly 40 minutes to an hour depending on your pace. Be sure to stay on the paved road and be cautious of the traffic.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from San Ignacio. Simply ask your hotel or any local to call a taxi for you. Provide the driver with the destination: Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve, 37 Miles George Price Highway, Frank's Eddy Village, Cayo District. The taxi ride will take about 30-35 minutes, and it's a comfortable option if you are traveling in a group or with heavy gear.
