From the center of San Ignacio, head northwest on Burns Avenue towards the junction with the Western Highway (Hummingbird Highway). Continue straight until you reach the junction. At this point, you can either take a local bus or a taxi. If you choose to take a bus, look for a bus heading towards the village of Douglas Da Silva. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Douglas Da Silva, ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to Rio Frio Cave, which is well-known among locals. You'll need to walk a short distance from the bus stop to the cave entrance.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in San Ignacio. Start your journey by cycling north on the main road towards the Western Highway.
