Bus and Boat
Start your journey from San Ignacio by walking to the San Ignacio Bus Terminal, located on the corner of Burns Avenue and West Street. From there, take a bus to Dangriga, which is approximately a 2.5 to 3-hour ride. Buses leave frequently, so you shouldn’t have to wait long. Once you arrive in Dangriga, head to the nearby dock (about a 5-minute walk) where you can catch a water taxi to South Water Caye. The water taxis operate on a schedule, so check the times ahead of your trip. The boat ride from Dangriga to South Water Caye takes about 30-45 minutes.
