Car
From San Ignacio, head east on the George Price Highway (Hwy 1) towards Belmopan. After about 30 minutes, take the exit for the Western Highway (Hwy 1) towards Belize City. Continue on this highway for approximately 1 hour until you reach the junction for the Belize City and the Northern Highway. Here, take a left towards Belize City. Once you reach the city, follow signs to the Belize City Harbor where you will catch a ferry to Thatch Caye. Parking is available at the harbor, but ensure to confirm the rates in advance.

From San Ignacio, take a local bus heading to Belize City. Buses depart frequently from the San Ignacio bus terminal, and the journey will take about 2 hours. Upon arrival in Belize City, walk to the Belize City Harbor, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal. At the harbor, buy a ticket for the ferry to Thatch Caye. Check the ferry schedule ahead of time, as it may vary. The ferry ride will take about 30-45 minutes.
