Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of San Ignacio, start at the San Ignacio Town Market. Head east on Burns Avenue (the main street). Walk straight until you reach the junction with the Western Highway (also known as the George Price Highway). At this junction, turn left onto the Western Highway. Continue walking for about 500 meters until you see the turn-off for Chial Road on your right. Turn right onto Chial Road and walk straight for about 1 kilometer. The Belize Botanic Gardens will be on your left. Look for the entrance sign.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in San Ignacio. Start at the San Ignacio Town Market and head east on Burns Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the Western Highway. Turn left onto the Western Highway and cycle for approximately 500 meters. Once you reach the turn-off for Chial Road, turn right. Continue cycling on Chial Road for about 1 kilometer until you see the Belize Botanic Gardens entrance on your left.
