Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the city of Dangriga, head south on the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway) for approximately 28 miles (45 km). You will pass through the town of Hope Creek. Continue until you reach the turnoff for Placencia Road, where you will turn right. The road will take you directly to the Placencia Peninsula. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards Placencia Village as you get closer.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  From Dangriga, take a bus heading south towards Placencia. Buses leave regularly from the Dangriga bus terminal. Ensure you board a bus that specifically mentions Placencia as its destination. The journey will take about 1 hour, and the fare is typically around $5 Belize dollars. Once you arrive at the Placencia terminal, you can walk or take a taxi to your final destination on the peninsula.

• Taxi

  If you're already in a nearby town and prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi to take you to Placencia Peninsula. Negotiate the fare beforehand; expect to pay around $50 to $100 Belize dollars, depending on your pickup location and the distance. A taxi ride will be more convenient, especially if you are traveling in a group.

• Shuttle Service

  Several hotels and resorts in Placencia offer shuttle services from major locations such as Belize City or Dangriga. Check with your accommodation to see if they provide this service. The cost varies, but it usually ranges from $30 to $60 Belize dollars per person. This is an excellent option if you prefer a hassle-free journey.
