Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, head north from the southern areas of Belize towards San Pedro. You will need to take a ferry from the mainland to Ambergris Caye. The ferry departs from the town of Belize City and costs around $20 BZD per person for a round trip. Once you arrive in San Pedro, drive towards the northern part of the island on Ambergris Street. Continue driving until you reach the junction where the road splits; take the right fork. The road will become more rugged, and you will eventually see signs directing you towards Secret Beach. The beach is located approximately 3.5 miles from the main road, and you may encounter some bumpy roads, so drive carefully.

Public Transportation

For those relying on public transportation, take a bus or shuttle from your accommodation in southern Belize to Belize City. Once in Belize City, head to the water taxi terminal and purchase a ticket for the ferry to San Pedro (approximately $20 BZD for a round trip). After arriving in San Pedro, look for a local taxi that can take you to Secret Beach. Taxi fares to Secret Beach are usually around $25 BZD, but be sure to confirm the price before you start your journey. The taxi will take you directly to the beach, but be prepared for some bumpy roads as you approach the destination.

Bicycle

If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area, consider renting a bicycle once you arrive in San Pedro. This can cost around $10 BZD per day. From San Pedro town, bike north on Ambergris Street until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right fork and continue biking towards Secret Beach. It is about a 30-minute bike ride, and you will enjoy beautiful scenery along the way, but be prepared for some rough patches in the road.
