If you are driving from Punta Gorda, head southeast on the Southern Highway (Hwy 1) towards the town of PG. Follow the highway for about 13 miles until you reach the entrance to the village of Rio Grande. Turn left onto Rio Grande Road and continue for approximately 5 miles. Look for signs directing you to the Port Honduras Marine Reserve. After reaching the reserve, you will need to park at the designated parking area. Be prepared to pay a small parking fee (around $5 BZD). From here, it is necessary to take a boat to Abalone Caye. Several local companies offer boat rides, and you can expect to pay around $75-100 BZD per person for a round trip.
