If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Punta Gorda in Toledo District. Head north on the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway). After about 30 minutes, look for the sign for the turn-off to El Progresso. Turn right and continue for approximately 7 miles. As you approach the Barton Creek area, keep an eye out for the entrance to Barton Creek Cave Reserve on your left. There is a parking area available on-site.

To reach Barton Creek Cave Reserve via public transportation, first, make your way to the Punta Gorda bus terminal. From there, take a bus heading towards San Ignacio or Belmopan and ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for El Progresso. Once you arrive at the junction, you can either walk the remaining 7 miles to the cave reserve or hire a local taxi to take you directly to the entrance.
