Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from San Ignacio, take the George Price Highway (Hwy 1) heading east. Continue on the highway for approximately 70 kilometers (about 1 hour and 15 minutes). As you approach Belize City, follow the signs directing you to the city center. Once you reach the city, turn onto Regent Street, where the Belize Tourism Board is located. There is usually street parking available, but be mindful of any parking fees or regulations.

• Bus

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from San Ignacio to Belize City. Buses leave regularly from the San Ignacio bus terminal and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Belize City bus terminal, exit and head east on West Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction at Regent Street. Turn left onto Regent Street, and you will find the Belize Tourism Board on your right side. Bus fare is usually around $10 BZD.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from anywhere in Western Belize to Belize City. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The drive may cost around $100 to $120 BZD depending on your starting point and the taxi service. Once you arrive in Belize City, direct the driver to Regent Street, where the Belize Tourism Board is located.

• Shuttle Service

  You can book a shuttle service from popular locations in Western Belize, such as San Ignacio or Cayo District, to Belize City. These services usually offer shared or private rides and can be pre-arranged online or through your hotel. The cost for a shared shuttle is typically around $35 to $50 BZD per person, while private shuttles can cost upwards of $100 BZD, depending on the number of passengers. The drop-off point will be near the city center, from where you can walk to Regent Street.
