Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from your location in Western Belize towards the town of San Pedro, located on Ambergris Caye. You can either take a ferry from the mainland to San Pedro or drive to a location with ferry access. The most common ferry service departs from the town of Belize City. After arriving in San Pedro, head to 2 Barrier Reef Drive where Hol Chan Marine Reserve is located. Parking may be available nearby, but check local signs for any fees.
Public Transportation (Bus and Ferry)
To reach Hol Chan Marine Reserve using public transportation, first, take a bus from your location in Western Belize to Belize City. Once you arrive in Belize City, head to the water taxi terminal. Purchase a ticket for a water taxi to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye; this typically costs around BZD 25-30. The water taxi ride takes about 1.5 hours.
