Public Transportation
To reach Chutes de Tanougou using public transportation, take a shared taxi or bus from the main station in Atacora to Kouandé. The fare is typically around 1,000 CFA francs. Once you arrive in Kouandé, you can either hire a motorcycle taxi (known as 'zemidjan') to take you the remaining 15 km to the falls, which should cost about 2,000 CFA francs, or you can walk if you are feeling adventurous.

If you choose to walk from Kouandé to Chutes de Tanougou, the path is scenic but can be challenging. The distance is approximately 15 km, and it may take around 3-4 hours on foot. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water, especially if you are visiting during the hotter months.
