Bab's Dock: A Recreational Haven in Cococodji

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Cotonou, head towards the coastline. Start at Place de l'Étoile Rouge. Walk south along Avenue Jean-Paul II until you reach Rue des Pêcheurs. Turn left onto Rue des Pêcheurs and continue walking until you reach the beach. Follow the coastline westward until you see signs for Cococodji. Bab's Dock is located in Cococodji, a short walk along the beach from the main road. Look for local markers or ask locals for directions once you reach Cococodji.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start from the central area of Cotonou and head towards Avenue Jean-Paul II. Cycle south until you reach Rue des Pêcheurs, and turn left. Continue cycling along Rue des Pêcheurs until you arrive at the coastline. Once at the beach, ride westward along the coast towards Cococodji. The ride should take approximately 30 minutes depending on your speed. Once you reach Cococodji, look for signs or locals to guide you to Bab's Dock.

• Public Transport

  To reach Bab's Dock via public transport, find a local bus or taxi-brousse heading to Cococodji. These can be found at major bus terminals in Cotonou, like the main bus station near Place de l'Étoile Rouge. Once you are on the bus, inform the driver that your destination is Cococodji. After about 30-45 minutes, get off at Cococodji. From there, you may need to walk a short distance to Bab's Dock, so look for local signs or ask for directions.
