Port stop in Benin
Arriving by cruise ship, shuttle to gate required to leave port. This caused delays meeting the coordinating interpreter who eventually got my car and driver. First to Porto Novo, where (at my request) I visited the cathedral and an older building which might have been the predecessor, since used as a mosque. Back to Cotonou for its cathedral. We drove past the elaborately illustrated port wall. Then saw airport, Amazon warrior statue, and other parts of city. Took driver and interpreter to lunch before returning to ship.
