Getting There

Car
From the center of Bumthang Valley, head southwest on the main road (Bumthang to Trongsa Road). Follow the road for about 25 kilometers until you reach the junction at Chumey. Take the left turn towards the Yutong La Pass. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the village of Ura. From Ura, take the road leading toward the east. After around 15 kilometers, you will see the sign for Chura Kang. Park your car in the designated area and walk the remaining distance to the base of the mountain, which is approximately a 20-minute hike.

Public Transportation
Start at the Bumthang bus station and take a local bus heading towards Trongsa. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Ura. The bus ride will take about 1 hour and cost around 100 Ngultrum. Once you arrive in Ura, you can either take a local taxi (approximately 200 Ngultrum) to the trailhead for Chura Kang or walk approximately 15 kilometers along the road. If you choose to walk, be prepared for a scenic trek that will take around 3-4 hours.

The driver will take you directly to the base of Chura Kang. It’s advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand and ensure the driver is familiar with the location. The taxi ride will take approximately 1 hour.
