Car
From the center of Jakar, head south on the main road (Bumthang-Jakar road) towards Tang Valley. After approximately 20 kilometers, watch for signs directing you to Tang Valley. Continue on this road for another 10 kilometers, and you will reach the junction leading to Ogyen Choling. The site is approximately 3 kilometers from this junction. Park at the designated area and walk to the museum, which is well marked along the path.
Public Transportation
From Jakar, you can take a local bus heading towards Tang Valley. The bus departs from the main bus station in Jakar. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes, and buses run several times a day. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the Tang Valley junction. From the junction, it's a short 3-kilometer walk to Ogyen Choling. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions if needed.
Taxi
Taxis are available in Jakar and can take you directly to Ogyen Choling. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should cost around 500-700 Ngultrum for a one-way trip. The taxi will drive you through the scenic route to Tang Valley, and then drop you off close to the museum entrance. Be sure to confirm with the driver about the return trip if needed.
