Car
From Mongar town center, head south on the Wangdue-Punakha Highway (NH 8). Continue for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the junction for the road leading to Panbang. Turn left onto the Panbang road, which is well-marked. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers. As you approach Panbang, look for the sign indicating Rinchenzor village. Turn right onto the gravel road leading into the village. The village is located at the coordinates V33X+WXP. Ensure to drive carefully as parts of the road may be rough.
Public Transportation
From Mongar, take a bus or shared taxi heading towards Panbang. Buses typically leave from the main bus terminal in Mongar. The fare to Panbang is approximately 150-200 Ngultrum. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions. Once you arrive in Panbang, you can hire a local taxi or ask for a shared ride to Rinchenzor village. The fare for the taxi to the village should be around 300-400 Ngultrum. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are already in Panbang, you can opt to walk to Rinchenzor village. From the Panbang market area, head towards the village by following the dirt path leading out of town. It is approximately a 5-kilometer walk, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours. The path is relatively straightforward but may be uneven, so wear appropriate footwear. This option allows you to enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
