Car
If you are driving from Mongar town, head east on the main highway (National Highway 2) towards Trashigang. Continue for approximately 25 km until you reach the junction for Thrisa, Shingkhar. Turn left at the junction and follow the road signs towards Thrisa. The road will take you through beautiful rural landscapes. After about 10 km, you will arrive in Thrisa. Shingmar Pong is located in the vicinity, and you may need to ask locals for the exact location or nearby landmarks.
Public Transportation
From Mongar town, you can catch a local bus or shared taxi that heads towards Trashigang. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the Thrisa junction. The fare is typically around 50-100 Nu. Once you reach the junction, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you the remaining 10 km to Shingmar Pong. The taxi fare should be negotiated beforehand, but it will generally cost around 300-500 Nu.
Walking
If you find yourself in Thrisa, Shingkhar, and prefer a more adventurous route, you can walk to Shingmar Pong. The area is scenic, and the walking trails are generally safe and well-marked. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water. It’s about a 2 km walk from the main road to Shingmar Pong.
