Hiking
From the center of Mongar, begin at the Mongar Dzong and head east on the main road (the Lhuentse Road). After about 1 kilometer, you will see a sign for Korila Pass. Continue along the road as it begins to ascend. The path is well-marked, but keep an eye on local signage. You will pass through a few small villages, where you can take a break and enjoy the local scenery. The hike up to Korila Pass is approximately 8 kilometers, taking about 2-3 hours depending on your pace. The views from the top are spectacular, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle in Mongar and start your journey from the Mongar Dzong. Head east on the main road towards Lhuentse. The journey to Korila Pass is about 8 kilometers uphill, taking approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Be cautious, as the path can be steep in some sections. There are spots along the way where you can stop and enjoy the scenery. Once you reach the pass, take some time to rest and capture the stunning views before making your way back down.
