Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Paro Dzong, walk towards the main street (Rinpung Zampa). Continue straight along the street until you reach the junction with the main road (National Highway 2). Cross the road carefully, and continue walking straight. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a small bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the road leading up the hill. As you walk, keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Hungrel Gewog. Continue on this path for another 1 kilometer until you see the Hungrel Gewog Office on your left, marked with a sign.

  • Biking

    If you rent a bicycle in Paro, start at the Paro Airport Road. Head towards Paro Dzong and then follow the same route as for walking. When you reach the junction with the main road, turn left and cycle along the National Highway 2. Be cautious of traffic as you ride. After about 1.5 kilometers, cross the small bridge and keep cycling uphill. Follow the signs for Hungrel Gewog. The office will be on your left after approximately 1 kilometer.

  • Hiking

    For a more adventurous route, you can take a hiking trail that leads from Paro Dzong towards the hills. Start at the Dzong and follow the trail that goes upward. This path can be steep, so make sure to wear proper hiking shoes. After about 30 minutes of hiking, you will reach a viewpoint. From there, descend towards the road that leads to Hungrel Gewog. It will take about 15 more minutes of walking along the road to reach the Gewog Office, which will be on your left.
