Car
From Pemagatshel, start your journey by driving towards the town of Trashigang. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Once you reach Trashigang, continue towards the town of Samdrup Jongkhar. From Samdrup Jongkhar, you will need to head towards the border area and look for signs leading to Jomolhari. The drive from Samdrup Jongkhar to Jomolhari takes around 4-5 hours, depending on road conditions. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for mountain roads.
Public Transportation
Take a local bus or shared taxi from Pemagatshel to Trashigang. This trip will take about 2-3 hours. From Trashigang, you will need to find a bus or shared taxi heading to Samdrup Jongkhar. The travel time is approximately 2-3 hours. Once in Samdrup Jongkhar, look for transportation options headed towards Jomolhari. Be aware that public transport may not be direct, and you might have to hire a local taxi to complete the last leg of the journey, which can take an additional 4-5 hours.
Hiking
If you are already near the Jomolhari area and are looking for an adventurous route, you can consider hiking. However, this option requires proper preparation and fitness, as the trails can be challenging. Make sure to carry adequate supplies and maps. It's advisable to hire a local guide who is familiar with the trails for safety.
