If you're driving from Pemagatshel, head northwest on the main road (National Highway 2). After approximately 45 kilometers, you will reach the junction at the town of Trashigang. Turn left at the junction, continuing on the highway towards Phobjikha Valley. Follow the signs to Gangtey Monastery. The monastery is located about 20 kilometers from the turnoff. The drive will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions.

Start your journey at the Pemagatshel bus station. From there, take a bus heading towards Trashigang. The bus ride will take around 2 hours. Once you arrive at Trashigang, you will need to transfer to another bus that goes to Phobjikha Valley. Be sure to confirm with the bus driver that the bus stops at Gangtey Monastery or is willing to drop you off nearby. The total travel time can take up to 4 hours, including transfer times.
