Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the main road in Phobjikha Valley. Head towards the village of Gangtey, which is about 10 kilometers from the valley's center. Once you reach Gangtey, look for signs directing you to Chemaito. Continue along this road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the junction. From there, take a left turn towards Chemaito and follow the road for another 2 kilometers. Lamsela is located at F779+P6V, Chemaito, so keep an eye out for any small signs indicating the hiking area.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take a local bus from Phobjikha Valley to Gangtey, which usually operates every hour. The bus fare is quite affordable, ranging from 50 to 100 Ngultrum (BTN). Once you reach Gangtey, you can either hire a taxi or find shared transport that can take you to Chemaito. The taxi ride will cost around 300-500 Ngultrum. After reaching Chemaito, you may need to walk approximately 1-2 kilometers to reach Lamsela, following the road directions given above.

• Hiking

  For the adventurous, hiking directly from the main road in Phobjikha Valley to Lamsela is an option. Make your way towards Gangtey and then follow the trails leading towards Chemaito. This will take you through beautiful landscapes, but ensure you have a map or a local guide, as the trails can be less marked. The hike can take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace and the specific route you take.
