Car
If you are driving, start from the main road in Phobjikha Valley. Head towards the Gangtey Monastery, which is one of the main landmarks in the area. From the monastery, continue on the road that leads to the Gangtey Nature Trail. The trailhead is approximately 2 kilometers from the monastery, and the drive will take about 5-10 minutes. Look for signs indicating the nature trail as you approach.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options in Phobjikha Valley may be limited, but you can take a local taxi or shared vehicle from your accommodation or the main village area to Gangtey Monastery. This ride typically costs around 300 to 500 Ngultrum, depending on your starting point. Once you reach the monastery, you can either walk the 2 kilometers to the trailhead or hire a local guide with a vehicle to take you directly to the Gangtey Nature Trail.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, you can start your hike from the Gangtey Monastery. The trek to the Gangtey Nature Trail from the monastery is a scenic 2-kilometer walk. Follow the path leading from the monastery, which is well-marked, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Phobjikha Valley along the way. This walk takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
