Start your journey from Punakha Dzong, one of the most famous landmarks in the area. From the Dzong, head southwest along the Punakha River. Walk past the bridge and continue on the well-marked trail that leads towards the hills. It will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the base of Lungchutse Goemba, where a steep path begins. As you ascend, you'll be greeted by stunning views of the valley and the surrounding mountains.

Once you reach the base of the Lungchutse Goemba trail, prepare for a steep hike. The trail is well-defined but can be strenuous, taking about 30 to 45 minutes to reach the monastery. Follow the trail markers, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding pine forests. The elevation gain is significant, so take your time and rest as needed. As you approach Lungchutse Goemba, the monastery will come into view, perched on a ridge.
