Car
If you are traveling by car, head out from Sarpang on the main road towards the Punakha - Thimphu Highway (also known as the Bhu-03 road). Follow this road for approximately 75 km, which should take around 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Keep an eye out for signposts directing you to Punakha. Once you reach the town of Punakha, continue following signs leading to the Dzong. Look for the viewpoint along the highway before entering the town; there are several clear spots to stop and take in the scenic views.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus from Sarpang to Punakha. Buses typically leave from the main bus terminal in Sarpang. The journey will take about 2-3 hours depending on stops, and the fare is usually around 150-200 Ngultrum. Once you arrive in Punakha, you can either walk or take a taxi to reach the Punakha Dzong View Point. Taxis are available near the bus station, and a short ride will cost you approximately 300-500 Ngultrum, depending on your exact destination.
