Car
From Sarpang, head north on the main highway (A5) towards Punakha. The drive is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Punakha, follow the signs to Punakha Suspension Bridge, which is located near the Punakha Dzong. You will need to park your car in the designated parking area near the bridge entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Punakha from Sarpang using public transportation, catch a local bus heading towards Wangdue Phodrang from the Sarpang bus terminal. Buses typically run every hour, and the journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Wangdue Phodrang, you will need to transfer to another bus heading to Punakha. The bus ride to Punakha takes about 30 minutes. After reaching Punakha, you can take a taxi to the Punakha Suspension Bridge, which is approximately 10 minutes away from the main town.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Sarpang to Punakha. This option is more expensive but offers convenience and flexibility. The taxi ride will take about 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon arrival in Punakha, the taxi driver can take you directly to the Punakha Suspension Bridge.
