Car
From Sarpang, head north on the main road (Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway). Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Jakar. Turn left and follow the signs to Jakar. After about 50 kilometers on this road, you will enter the town of Jakar. Continue through Jakar and follow the road signs for Domkhar Lhakhang. The Lhakhang is located at FMV8+2QF, Jakar, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the center of Jakar. The drive should take about 90 minutes in total, depending on traffic.
Public Transportation
From Sarpang Town, take a local bus or shared taxi heading to Jakar. The journey will take around 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on road conditions and stops. Buses leave frequently, but it’s advisable to confirm the schedule. Upon arrival at Jakar, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to Domkhar Lhakhang. The taxi ride from Jakar to Domkhar Lhakhang will take about 20 minutes and cost approximately 300-500 Ngultrum, depending on your negotiation skills.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, renting a bicycle in Sarpang is an option. Start by cycling along the Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway towards Jakar. It is a scenic route, but be prepared for a challenging ride, especially the hilly sections. The total distance is roughly 80 kilometers, which could take several hours depending on your cycling speed and stamina. Once you reach Jakar, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Domkhar Lhakhang, which is about 10 kilometers from there.
