Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from the Thimphu Main Square (Clock Tower), head southeast on Norzin Lam. Continue straight for about 500 meters. You will pass the National Library on your left. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection with Chhoten Lam. Turn left onto Chhoten Lam, and the National Memorial Chorten will be on your right after about 200 meters.

If you're at the Buddha Dordenma statue, start by walking back down the hill towards Kuensel Phodrang. At the first junction, turn left onto the road leading to the city center. Continue down for about 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Chhoten Lam. Turn right onto Chhoten Lam, and the National Memorial Chorten will be on your left after about 300 meters.

From the Tashichho Dzong, exit the Dzong and walk down the road towards the traffic light. At the traffic light, turn right onto Norzin Lam. Walk straight for about 1 kilometer; you will pass several shops and cafes. When you reach the intersection with Chhoten Lam, turn left, and the National Memorial Chorten will be on your right after approximately 200 meters.
