Getting There

Walking
Starting from the central part of Trashigang, head west along the main road towards the Trashigang Dzong. Continue past the dzong and follow the signs for the local hiking trails. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the path. Take the left path which leads towards the hills. The trail will gradually incline, and you will be surrounded by beautiful scenery. After approximately 1 hour of walking, keep an eye out for a small sign indicating Bongbu re Waterfall. The waterfall is about a 15-minute walk from the sign, so follow the path down towards the sound of water. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be uneven.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Trashigang. Begin your journey by heading towards the Trashigang Dzong. From the dzong, take the road that leads to the hills. After about 4 km, there will be a turnoff on your left for the hiking trail to Bongbu re Waterfall. Park your bicycle there and continue on foot. The hike to the waterfall will take roughly 1 hour, and it's advisable to take your time to enjoy the surrounding nature. Look for the small sign that marks the final stretch to the waterfall.
