    Getting There

    Walking

    From Trongsa town center, head northeast on the main street towards the Trongsa Dzong. When you reach the Dzong, continue straight past the visitor center and follow the road as it begins to ascend. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left branch which leads towards Phobjikha Valley. Continue on this road for about 14 kilometers until you reach the Phobjikha Valley entrance. Look for signs directing you to Gangtey Monastery. The monastery is located on the hilltop, follow the path up, and you will arrive at the site.

    Bicycle

    If you are renting a bicycle, start from the Trongsa town square and cycle towards the Trongsa Dzong. After passing the Dzong, take the road to the left that leads towards Phobjikha Valley. This route is about 14 kilometers uphill, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery and local farms. Once you reach the Phobjikha Valley entrance, follow the signs to Gangtey Monastery, which is situated on a hill. Secure your bike at the base and walk up to the monastery.
