Car
Start your journey from Tsirang by heading towards the Punakha - Thimphu Highway (NH 5). Depending on your exact location in Tsirang, you may need to navigate local roads to reach this highway. Once on the highway, drive towards Punakha. The Punakha Dzong View Point is located approximately 25 kilometers from the town of Punakha. Look for signs indicating the view point as you approach the area.
Public Transportation
From Tsirang, take a local bus or shared taxi to Punakha. Buses typically leave from the main bus station in Tsirang. The journey to Punakha takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Punakha, you can hire a local taxi or walk to the Punakha Dzong View Point, which is about 3 kilometers from the center of Punakha. Ensure you ask the driver to take you directly to the view point.
Walking
If you are already in Punakha and wish to walk to the view point, head towards the Punakha Dzong and follow the path leading to the viewpoint. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the town center, offering beautiful scenery along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
