Getting There

Walking
From the center of Wangdue Phodrang, head east towards the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. Walk along the main road, following the signs towards Giala. Continue walking for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the fork in the road. Take the right fork, which leads towards Giala. After about another 1.5 kilometers, you will start to see signs indicating Khotokha Ramsar. Keep walking straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance of Khotokha Ramsar.

Trekking
If you are looking for a more scenic route, consider taking a trekking path from Wangdue Phodrang towards Khotokha Ramsar. Start your trek from the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, heading north along the trails. This will take you through beautiful landscapes and small villages. Follow the trail markers that direct you towards Khotokha Ramsar. The trek may take around 3-4 hours depending on your pace, and it’s advisable to carry water and snacks.

Bicycle
For those who are comfortable cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Wangdue Phodrang. Start from the town center and follow the main road towards Giala. The route is approximately 5 kilometers long and will take you through some lovely countryside. Be cautious of traffic and make sure to stay on the designated paths. Once you reach the fork in the road, take the right path towards Giala and continue until you see the signs for Khotokha Ramsar.
