From Chacaltaya, head south on the main road towards La Paz. After about 30 kilometers, you will reach the town of Unduavi. From Unduavi, look for the signs indicating El Choro Trek, which is approximately 6 kilometers further down the road. You can park your car in designated areas near the trailhead. Be aware that you may need to pay for parking, which typically costs around 10-20 Bolivianos.
Public Transportation
To reach El Choro Trek from Chacaltaya using public transport, you will first need to take a minibus (also known as a 'trufi') heading towards La Paz. Get off at the stop in Unduavi after about a 30-minute ride. From there, you can walk or hire a local taxi to take you the remaining 6 kilometers to the trailhead of El Choro Trek. The minibus fare should be around 15-20 Bolivianos, and hiring a taxi might cost you approximately 40-60 Bolivianos.
